HOLLAND, Texas (KWTX) A man who suffered major trauma in a tractor accident Wednesday afternoon outside of Holland in Bell County remained in serious condition Thursday at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

The man, whom authorities identified as Billy Meissner, 64, somehow got caught between the tractor and plow and then was run over by the plow, authorities said.

Another person was driving the tractor, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded at around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday to a field near the intersection of State Highway 95 and Round Hall Road.

Holland police Chief Shawn Newsom, who also serves as a paramedic for the Holland Fire Department said he applied two tourniquets to the injured man after he arrived at the scene.

Newsom said Meissner suffered injuries and major trauma over his entire body.
