Southbound traffic on I-35 was backed up for miles early Monday near Bruceville-Eddy as crews extinguished a tractor trailer fire.
The driver pulled over early Monday after hearing a pop on the left side of the rig and discovered the trailer was burning.
The fire destroyed the truck.
The driver wasn’t injured.
The driver told Department of Public Safety troopers he was hauling car parts and sunflower seeds.
Traffic was diverted off the highway onto the access road until the scene was cleared at around 7 a.m.
DPS is investigating the incident.
