One man died Thursday morning after an Amtrak train struck his SUV at a crossing in Bell County.
Jesse Uhrig, 36, of Temple, died at the scene.
The accident was reported just before 11 a.m. at a crossing on Mills Lane just off State Highway 95 north of Holland.
Uhrig was eastbound in a 2007 Ford SUV on Mills Road when he drove into the path of the train, which was carrying 73 passengers and 11 crew members.
None of them was injured, authorities said.
Travelers were delayed because of the accident, but the train resumed its trip at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
