Preston Glass, 26, of Hewitt, died Thursday after a blowout caused him to lose control of the 18-wheeler he was driving on a rural stretch State Highway 31.

The accident occurred at around 12:50 p.m. Thursday 2 ½ miles northeast of Mount Calm, Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard said.

Glass was eastbound on the highway when the tire blew out, Howard said.

“The Kenworth truck tractor lost control, left the roadway, and overturned,” he said.

Glass died at the scene.
