Two arrested, drugs, guns and cash seized in raids on 2 local homes

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Temple officers arrested two men and seized thousands of dollars’ worth of drugs, cash and guns in raids Wednesday on two local homes, police said Thursday.

Drug search warrants were executed Wednesday at homes in the 2700 block of South Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive and 5000 Warwicke Drive.

In the raid on the residence on MLK, officers seized about 2 grams of methamphetamine, 5 ounces of marijuana, more than 500 ecstasy pills, and more than 40 Xanax pills with a total street value of about $17,000.

Officers also found a Glock 42 handgun and $3,000 in cash.

Antonio Gardner was the only person inside the home.

He was taken to the Bell County Jail, police said Thursday.

His name did not appear on the jail’s online roster Thursday afternoon.

At the Warwicke residence, officers seized about 180 grams of powder cocaine, 262 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 21 grams of black tar heroin, heroin, ecstasy pills and what police described as a large amount of marijuana with a total street value of about $55,600.

They also found about $3,500 in cash, an AK pistol, a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, a Glock 23 handgun, a Kahr 380 handgun and a Taurus 38 Special, as well as ammunition for all the weapons.

Damion Montgomery, 41, of Temple, was taken to the Bell County Jail, where he remained Thursday.

His bond had not been set as of late Thursday afternoon.
