Two die in small plane crash in Texas

CENTER, Texas (KWTX) Two people are dead after a small plane crashed into a wooded area late Wednesday afternoon near an East Texas airport.

The single-engine Cessna 206 went down at around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday about a quarter of a mile south of the Center Municipal Airport in Center, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

“The plane was destroyed upon impact,” the FAA said.

Local authorities confirmed the two people aboard the plane died.
