KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A man who was struck by a car and a woman whom a second vehicle struck as she tried to help were both taken to a local hospital overnight. Neither driver stopped.

A man who was struck by a car and a woman whom a second vehicle struck as she tried to help were both taken to a local hospital overnight.

Neither driver stopped, police said.

The accident was reported at around 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Fort Hood Street in Killeen.

The 28-year-old man was struck by a southbound vehicle as he tried to cross the street.

The 28-year-old woman, who police say was walking slightly ahead of him, was struck by a second vehicle as she turned back to try to help the injured man.

The man was flown to Scott & White Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The woman was taken to Scott & White by ambulance in serious but stable condition, police said.

One of the vehicles involved may have been a maroon or red 1990s model Toyota sedan, police said.
