Two people were taken to a local hospital after a crash on Interstate 35 left them trapped Sunday afternoon.
Temple Fire & Rescue says the accident involving a sedan and an 18-wheeler happened just before 3 p.m. Sunday, trapping the occupants in the sedan between a concrete wall and the semi on the inside southbound lane of the interstate, near mile marker 304.
Firefighters had to rescue them using extrication equipment, removing the roof of the car to free the driver and passenger.
Both were taken by Temple EMS to Scott & White Medical Center for evaluation.
