CHILTON, Texas (KWTX) A man and a woman suffered gunshot wounds and another man and woman were arrested following a shooting incident Friday night in Chilton.

Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman said at about 8:45 p.m. Friday deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting that had just occurred in Chilton.

Scaman said deputies, once at the location, discovered a 22-year-old woman from Waco and a 25-year-old man from Chilton had been wounded by gunfire.

Scaman said family members took the two wounded individuals to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center, in Waco, where they both were treated and later released.

Scaman said the shooting is thought to be the result of a feud among families in the Chilton area.

“I’m afraid we’ll have another one before this weekend is over,” he said.

Scaman said Lott police officers and those from Rosebud, along with Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Wardens also responded to the scene.

Investigators were quickly able to gather information about the suspect vehicle that had left the scene and that information was disseminated to area law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the car.

Having heard the broadcast, “officers with the Marlin Police Department located the suspect vehicle and were able to apprehend the suspect after a brief confrontation,” Scaman said.

Raelynn Swinnea, 24, of Kosse and old David Espinoza 21, of Marlin posted bonds and were released from the Falls County Jail on Saturday afternoon.

Both are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
