University campus locked down after active-shooter report

JACKSON, Miss. (KWTX) The campus of Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss., was locked down temporarily Wednesday after a report of an active shooter.

The university sent out an alert late Wednesday morning that said: “We have an active shooter on campus. The suspected shooter is in a black Honda Accord, license plate number MAC 0214. The entire campus community should take shelter immediately. The campus is currently on lock down.”

The school issued an all clear about 30 minutes later.
