VALLEY MILLS, Texas (KWTX) A kitten in Valley Mills has tested positive for rabies, police said Friday.
According to a public health notice, the city was notified on Wednesday that the kitten tested positive.
“Efforts are underway to collect the remaining litter mates and any adults that may have had contact with this kitten,” the notice reads.
The city is telling residents to exercise caution when coming into contact with an animal they do not know and to seek medical attention if they are bitten or scratched by a strange animal try to quarantine the animal.
“All animal owners within this immediate area should make your animals are current on rabies and if you animal begins to display unusual behavior, immediately take them to the veterinarian of your choice,” the notice says.
