The hot rod struck a man and a woman who were carrying a banner and then an older man whose shoulder ended up beneath one of the car’s tires, witness Justin Earl said.
“I saw the tire spinning on his shoulder so I lifted the back of the vehicle as much as I could and he was able to wiggle out,” Earl said.
Earl said he and three bikers were able to stop and hold the hot rod.
The older man and the woman were taken to a local hospital with what police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said were minor injuries
The other man, and a woman whose leg the hot rod grazed, declined medical treatment, witnesses said.
The parade was halted for about 20 minutes because of the accident, which happened at the intersection of 9th Street and Austin Avenue.
No further details were immediately released.
