On Sept. 1, an Arlington police officer shot and killed a motorist who started rolling up the windows of his SUV and driving away from a traffic stop with the officer's arm inside.
The officer standing on the passenger's side reached into the vehicle as the driver began rolling up the windows and starting the vehicle.
Police say the officer shot the driver as he drove away with the officer still on the side of the vehicle.
The officer then fell onto the pavement.
The officer was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and released.
Police say items found in the SUV included a pound of marijuana and a handgun.
The medical examiner's office identified the deceased driver as Oshae Terry, 24.
The SUV, in which two men were riding, was pulled over for a registration violation.
Officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
