A dashcam recorded an accident in which an SUV whose 77-year-old driver stepped on the gas rather than the brake slammed into a column at a newly remodeled library in College Station, barely missing a woman and three children.

KBTX in Bryan obtained the video.

The SUV’s driver was trying to pull into a handicapped parking space when he hit the gas.

A 3-year-old child whom the SUV narrowly missed was taken to a hospital to be checked out as a precaution.

The driver wasn’t cited, KBTX in Bryan reported.
