Salado: Vietnam veteran delivers powerful testimony to local church
The Village Church of Salado hosted a special fellowship where fellow Vietnam Air Force Veteran Col. Thomas J. Curtis was the guest speaker on Sunday morning.
The event, hosted at the Salado High School cafeteria, saw Curtis share his personal testimony of faith during his time as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam for nearly 8 years.
He says there's no way he would have survived if it hadn't been for his family at home and his faith in God.
"It was the foundation of all that went on and it was important to me," he said.
"I was so grateful that I was a Christian when I hit the ground because otherwise, I wouldn't have survived."
Curtis also participated in the main church service, which included live music and a free breakfast.
He says his biggest piece of advice to the crowd was to always put faith in God and trust him no matter what.
