WACO, Texas (KWTX) Police caught a burglar in the act early Tuesday inside the Logan’s Roadhouse restaurant in the Central Texas Marketplace in Waco, but one officer was injured in a fight that ensued during the arrest.

Arlan Edward Dixon was in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday afternoon charged with burglary of a building and resisting arrest. (Jail photo)

The officer was treated for his injuries and was later released from a local emergency facility, police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Wednesday.

The burglar broke out the front glass door to get inside the restaurant and that’s where officers found him when they responded to a report of an alarm at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, one of the restaurant’s managers said.

At one point as many as five police units were at the restaurant and later a crime scene unit arrived, apparently to process evidence.

The manager said workers were scrambling to repair the window so the restaurant could be opened on time.

Arlan Edward Dixon remained in the McLennan County Jail Wednesday charged with burglary of a building and resisting arrest.

His bonds total $7,000.
