WACO, Texas (KWTX) The streets of downtown Waco were flooded with people and food trucks Saturday, as the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce hosted the 5th annual Food Truck Showdown.
38 food trucks from across Texas and even some from out of state, came to Heritage Square for the competition.
“We are showing people what Waco looks like. We have a lot of our of town guest that are here for a number of reasons,” says Amanda Haygood Director of Special Events for Waco Chamber of Commerce.
Along with the food, there was live music, shopping, and a petting zoo.
“Waco is changing every day and it’s always for the better. It’s always good for people to come and see our city and stop and spend the night,” says George’s Owner Sammy Citrano.
Members of the Chamber of Commerce expect the total number of people who attended the event to be in the thousands.
