WACO, Texas (KWTX) Participants from around the country ran in the Race Revolutions Cameron Park Trail Run Sunday morning.

A 5, 10.5, and 21K competitions were part of the annual event which is part of a larger series.

Some competitors were attempting to qualify for nationals, in what even experienced runners say is a difficult course.

"It's pretty tough here," says organizer Joel Grimmett.

"We get a lot of people from out of state here and they run...They like it a lot, it's really popular and been a good race for us," says Grimmett.

Officials say this year's trail was altered slightly from years past due to flooding in the nearby Brazos river.
