WACO, Texas (KWTX) Saturday morning a parade was held in East Waco to celebrate the Texas holiday of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth, officially on June 19th, is the day slaves were emancipated in the state of Texas.
It was important time for many to learn about the day while also celebrating and having fun.
"I like to see different people that come out and the little kids come out and know what they are celebrating and bring my little girl out here to see," says Chandra Majors who brought her child out to see the parade.
Cars, fire trucks, and dancers all made their way down the street with many even throwing candy to children who were out watching the parade.
