WACO, Texas (KWTX) The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals has named Midway High School Associate Principal Becky Odajima as the Texas Assistant Principal of the Year, the Midway ISD announced Wednesday.
“We are certainly so proud of [her]. She is highly intelligent and always poised, yet she finds a way for her quiet strength and warm heart to shine through,” Midway ISD Superintendent Dr. George Kazanas said.
Odajima is in her first year as associate principal after serving as an assistant and instructional specialist for one year.
She has also worked in the Waco ISD and at schools in Michigan, Cedar Park and Robinson.
She’s working on a doctorate at Baylor University after earning a master’s degree from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in music from Stephen F. Austin University.
