WACO, Texas (KWTX) A Waco driving school launched an app Monday that allows student drivers to take a driver’s education course using their phones.

Waco’s Central Texas Driving School launched an app Monday that allows student drivers to take their driver’s education course using their phones.

The app XLR8 Drivers Ed is accessible on all phones.

All student drivers are required to take the driver’s education class before they are eligible for permits.

“The kids can do it on the go, they can go on vacation and easily access it so I think it will be very popular,” Tonya Dansby said.

“It is statewide so anyone that is in the state of Texas that needs drivers ed can log on to our app.”

The app is filled with graphics, animations, interactive lessons and quizzes to help teen drivers learn and also includes the permit test.

Hudson says all quizzes and scores are emailed to the parents so they can keep up to date with how their children are doing.

“It’s everything you need to know about driving a car…we even have a lesson on how you can change a flat tire on the app,” Hudson said.

Central Texas Driving School also provides bilingual classes once a month in which an instructor teaches both in Spanish and in English.
