Waco: Fish fry benefits 3-year-old diagnosed with cancer
Summit Electric Supply put on a charity fish fry Thursday for 3-year-old Axton Norman who is battling neuroblastoma cancer.
Axton was diagnosed last month and has since undergone surgery.
His father works for Summit Electric Supply and the company decided to do their part and help the family.
The company at 5101 Franklin Ave. had fish, fries, and hush-puppies at $10 a plate.
Account manager TJ Zawacki says the proceeds will go toward helping Axton in his fight with cancer.
"When you see someone who is 3 1/2 years old running around and playing one day and the next day he is in the hospital not feeling well, it tears at your heart. We decided to help in any way we could and give Axton a good support system," Zawacki said.
In addition to the fish fry "Axton's Army" and "No One Fights Alone" T-shirts were sold to add to the proceeds.
Summit Electric expected around 500 people to turn out for the event.
