WACO, Texas (KWTX) Former football star, ESPN commentator and best-selling author Tim Tebow is coming to Central Texas.

The 2007 Heisman trophy award winner will be the guest speaker for the “Celebrate Life Banquet” in October for the Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central Texas, a pro-life organization that provides women with options about pregnancy and health.

Tebow grew up the son of missionaries and is outspoken about his faith.

He established the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2010 because he said “the Christian faith is about loving Jesus and loving people and that is what we are trying to do with this foundation and all of our outreaches.”

Tebow’s foundation also sponsors the “Night to Shine Event,” a prom held simultaneously around the world at thousands of locations for those with special needs.

Crestview Church of Christ in Waco has been chosen to host the prom for the last two years.

Tebow has also developed a relationship with “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines after being featured on an espisode.

Chip Gaines just returned from being a featured celebrity in Tebow’s annual golf tournament fundraiser.

Past speakers of the event include Lou Holtz, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee.

The Care Net banquet featuring Tebow is on Oct. 3.

Tickets start at $100.
