WACO, Texas (KWTX) McLennan Community College is offering courses to McLennan County students who attend colleges affected by Hurricane Harvey.

MCC will also assist in communicating with the students’ colleges to ensure the courses will transfer upon completion.

“McLennan's college and university colleagues across the state are responding to their students, employees, and constituents in phenomenal ways,” MCC President Johnette McKown said.

“President Betty McCrohan from Wharton County Junior College shared that they are doing okay but are uncertain about what will occur when the river crests. She said there is likely to be a significant impact on their enrollment and revenue, and she has never seen such widespread devastation,” she said.

“Sitting here in Waco, I have wanted MCC to help. We are hopeful that our plan might assist some students as they pursue their dreams.”

Students interested in attending MCC this semester should contact MCC advising specialist Diane Russo at drusso@mclennan.edu or at (254) 299-8414 for further information.
