Waco: Man arrested in fatal hit-and-run indicted

WACO, Texas (KWTX) a man arrested after a fatal hit-and-run in Waco was indicted Wednesday.

Jason Lamar Davis, 26, of Moody was named in the indictment charging failure to stop and render aid in connection with the hit-and-run death of a Waco man who was struck by a pickup while riding his motorized bicycle in June.

Ricky Wilkerson of Waco died at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center after he was struck at around 5:30 p.m. on June 15 while riding his bicycle at North 15th Street and West Waco Drive.

Witnesses told officers an eastbound 2007 to 2014 GMC Silverado truck struck Wilkerson.

The driver didn’t stop, and was last seen headed east on Waco Drive.

Davis was arrested after police received a Crime Stoppers tip.

He remains in the McLennan County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $28,500.

He’s also held on two unrelated child support warrants.
