"This spring is awesome, it's really, really good for us,” said Barry Muschaweck, the owner of the Backyard Bar, Stage and Grill on South 8th Street.

The restaurant’s kitchen was buzzing with a batch of lunch orders Thursday and Muschawek said the staff was trying to keep the wait for customers to less than 45 minutes.

"(It’s) one of our busiest times of the year, he said.

“We have so many people that come through here from all walks of life and places. It's very interesting to meet a lot of people."

Next door, The Findery was so crowded it was hard to move around.

"It's fun down here, it's fun to come to work every day,” owner Matt Fatheree said.

Summer Redwine owns and operates Pie Peddlers bakery.

"It's amazing, downtown is coming alive, there's so much opportunity and so much business down here now."

The shop produced hundreds of pies Thursday, Redwine said.

"Business is great for us,” she said.

“We have the Silobration going on right now and then also it's National Pi Day…so it's a huge day for us, probably the biggest day of our whole year."

Spring at the Silos continues through Saturday night.
