WACO, Texas (KWTX) Have you ever wondered how the court system works, or what exactly makes up our legal system?
Saturday morning the Baylor University Law School answered those questions as they opened up their doors for their annual people's law school event.
Around 200 people of all ages came to the free event to learn about a variety of topics including family law.
Lessons were led by professors from the law school and lawyers from around the area.
Professor Patricia Wilson for Baylor Law, says it is something the school always looks forward to.
"We think that every lawyer has an obligation to do something to give back to their community. We think that as an organization, as a law school, and as part of Baylor University we have an obligation to give back to the community and this is just one of the ways that we do that."
Professor Wilson says the school plans on doing the event again next year with different lessons so guests can gain even more knowledge.
