WACO, Texas (KWTX) Math, science, and robots were on display Thursday at McLennan Community College Kid's College as part of the program's Robotics Camp.

"Kids are learning basic coding and learning how to build a basic LEGO figure," says teacher Cindy Olbrich from Engineering with Kids.

Olbrich says the LEGOs aren't your typical building blocks, and that the bricks actually part of the NXT kit which teaches kids how to make machines.

On Thursday the camp concluded with a Grand Tournament that pitted the robots against one another.

Kids had fun, and even some like Sebastian Crewe were inspired to build more machines in the future.

"(I would) possibly build a new invention to help you do stuff you don’t want to do like mow the lawn," says Crewe.

MCC says they ore than 700 students signed up for classes this summer.
