WACO, Texas (KWTX) It was a packed room Tuesday evening as Baylor University welcomed an LGBTQ speaker to campus.

Justin Lee capped off his two day visit to the Baptist university by giving a talk followed by question and answer session to 500 people.

The gay Christian author shared his story of coming out and how the church as a whole can welcome everyone.

The talk was sponsored by the school of social work and it was open to the Central Texas community, and it was attended by students, faculty and multiple regents.

Lee capped off his speech by addressing the LGBTQ attendees directly and says they have a place and role in the church and should feel welcomed.
