WACO, Texas (KWTX) A suspect was in custody Wednesday afternoon following a late-night shooting near the intersection of North 25th Street and Lasker Avenue in Waco that left a teenager dead and sent two others to a local hospital.

Michael Ray Brooks, Jr., 19, of Waco died at the scene of the shooting, which was reported at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

A man and a woman whose names were not released were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Officer Garen Bynum said.

Nicosia Harlan, 25, of Waco was arrested at around 4 a.m. Wednesday in connection with the shooting.

He was charged with manslaughter, Bynum said.

His name did not appear on the McLennan County Jail's online roster early Wednesday afternoon.

Gunfire was evidently exchanged between people in a house on Lasker and someone who was either in the street or in a car.

A number of shell casings were visible in the street late Tuesday night.

Investigators are looking into the possibility the shooting was related to others in the same area of the city.

Police closed down Lasker between 25th and 26th streets as they investigated late Tuesday night.
