Waco: School district to host 8th Annual Family Fest

8th Annual Waco ISD Family Fest

9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019

Waco High School, 2020 N 42ndSt, Waco and University High School, 3201 S New Rd, Waco.

To help students start the new school year ready for learning, Waco ISD is hosting its eighth-annual Family Fest for students and their families. The free event aims to build relationships with families and boost parent involvement, while providing access to important education, health and community resources.

Parents will also have the opportunity to register their student(s) for the 2019-2020 school year if they haven’t already done so. Registered students can receive a voucher for a free backpack with school supplies to be redeemed at Family Fest while supplies last. Vouchers are only available at the designated feeder campus booths, and families must attend the event at the high school to which they are zoned in order to register and receive the vouchers.

The following campuses should attend Family Fest at University High School: Alta Vista Elementary, Bell's Hill Elementary, Brazos High Credit Recovery, Cesar Chavez Middle, Kendrick Elementary and South Waco Elementary.

The following campuses should attend Family Fest at Waco High School: Brook Avenue Elementary, Cedar Ridge Elementary, Crestview Elementary, Dean Highland Elementary, G.W. Carver Middle, Hillcrest PDS, J.H. Hines Elementary, Indian Spring Middle, Mountainview Elementary, Parkdale Elementary, Provident Heights Elementary, Tennyson Middle/ATLAS and West Avenue Elementary.

Lake Air Montessori Magnet will be represented at both locations.

Health screenings and immunizations will be available at little or no cost, and parents are asked to bring an insurance card, if available. In addition, free food and entertainment will also be offered for attendees, and many local community organizations and businesses will be in attendance at both locations.

Bus transportation will be provided to and from all elementary and middle school campuses as well as the former North Waco campus. The bus schedule, which includes pick-up and drop-off times, can be found at wacoisd.org/familyfest.
