Waco woman, 60, struck, killed by hit-and-run driver

Police were looking for a hit-and-run driver Monday after officers found a woman dead in a roadway in East Waco.

Officers who responded to the accident at around 3:15 a.m. Monday found Cheryle Booker Small, 60, of Waco dead at the intersection of Hood Street and Harlem Avenue in East Waco.

“It appears the victim was struck by a vehicle and the vehicle fled the scene,” police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
