A wedding date is a special day in anyone’s life, but for one Central Texas couple, the date will always symbolize much more than their anniversary.

Jim Seidensticker and Nicki Gabrovic got married at 6 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 6.

They now share a wedding anniversary date with both of their parents.

Nicki’s parents were married 47 years ago at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 and Jim’s parents were married 51 years ago at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 .

The couple met online through a site for triathletes and dated long-distance for a while until they became engaged last year. They said they automatically knew which date to have the wedding.

"The fact that both of (our parents) are still together says a lot so (Nicki) wanted to have our wedding on Sept.6 because what are the odds that both parents have the same wedding date,” Seidensticker said.

Even when they realized Sept.6, 2016 fell on a Tuesday, there was no turning back on the plan.

“We got a lot of calls when we told (vendors) the date that we wanted to book, and they were like you do realize it’s a Tuesday and we would explain the date is special,” Gabrovic said.

But she said having a Tuesday wedding had perks including a lower price tag.

“You can get some great deals when you aren't getting married on a Saturday,” Gabrovic said.

Even on a Tuesday, a group of more than 150 friends and family gathered to celebrate the special day.
