AUSTIN (January 14, 2016) The Texas Ranger Unsolved Crimes Investigation Team is taking another look at the 1981 murder of Carol Deleon, 18, who was killed just days after she graduated from high school.

Her body was found on June 4, 1981 along Interstate 35 in Comal County, but investigators didn’t know who she was until 2009, when DNA technology finally identified her.

She died of multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Deleon lived in the West Avenue of San Antonio and was believed to have visited a nightclub in the city on June 3, 1981, the day before she was found dead.

Comal County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of as much as $10,000 effective until Feb. 12 for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible for her death.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call 1-800-640-8422.
