McLennan County: Woman killed in violent crash identified

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) A Central Texas woman was identified as the victim of a violent crash near Hewitt Wednesday afternoon.

Brigette Brown, 48, of Moody was pronounced dead at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center, according to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

First responders were dispatched just before 3:45 p.m. Wednesday to the north end of FM 2113, about half-a-mile south of Towne West Drive where they found an that had overturned after veering off the road and striking a culvert.

The woman driving the Ford Expedition, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard said.

She was alone in the SUV.

The road was closed to traffic in the area of the accident for about an hour after the accident.
