KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A woman found dead in June in a room at a Killeen hotel was the victim of a homicide, police said Thursday.

Officers found Chelsea Lynell Cheatham, 32, unresponsive and not breathing after responding at around 10:40 p.m. on June 3 to the Days Inn at 1602 East Central Texas Expressway in Killeen.

“Officers immediately started to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived,” police said in a press release Thursday, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

“At the time of the incident it was unknown if her death was by natural causes and an investigation was initiated,” police said.

An autopsy, the results of which police just received, determined the manner of Cheatham’s death was homicide.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-TIPS.
