After overpass incidents, woman reports rock hitting car

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - A Temple woman decided to play it safe this morning and call police after a rock hit her car.

Around 7:45 am Temple police tell us they received a call from a woman who said a rock struck her car.

It happened at Loop 363 and South 31st Street.

The woman told police she wasn’t exactly sure where it came from, but she wanted to call it in, in light of recent events involving rocks being thrown from overpasses in Bell County.

Police say the scene was cleared and tell us it did not come from an overpass.

Over the weekend, a woman died, after a rock was thrown from an I-35 overpass and crashed through her windshield.

Then, earlier this week a second car was hit with a rock, thrown from the Nugent Avenue overpass.

That rock hit the car’s sunroof.

No one was injured.
