Killeen: Woman dies in shooting at local apartment complex

A 23-year-old woman was shot and killed early Thursday morning at an apartment complex in Killeen and police have arrested a suspect.

Police were sent at about 2:50 a.m. Thursday to a report of a shooting at the Willows apartment complex in the 1100 block of Willow Springs Road.

The first officers on the scene found a woman in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but were unable to revive her.

Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown pronounced the woman dead at the scene and ordered her body taken for autopsy.

Police have not identified the victim nor the suspect.

No one else injured.

Police said there was an argument before the shots were fired.

The investigation is ongoing.
