2 Central Texans sign on to serve their country after football

One of the great stories in Central Texas on National Signing Day is the two players that signed to play for our military academies.

In Teague, offensive lineman Marcus Williams signed with the Naval Academy. He'll head to Annapolis, Maryland and play for the Midshipmen. Signing with Navy also means after he's finished with football and his education he'll serve our country. Williams has been an outstanding offensive lineman for the Lions and helped lead them deep into the playoffs the last few years.

At China Spring, Brayden Mathis signed his national letter of intent to play at the Air Force Academy. Mathis comes for a family with a lot of military history and he's embracing that tradition. Mathis will play for Air Force and then he too will serve for several years after finishing his playing career.
Mathis had a tremendous career at China Spring where he is the school's all-time leading tackler.
