WACO, Texas - All across the state, high school athletes were signing letters of intent for all NCAA Division I and II sports not including football.
Some local athletes that signed letters of intent:
-Brianne Dumas will play tennis for Hardin-Simmons University
-Major Ueckert will play tennis for Shriner University
-Julia Garcia will play golf for Dallas Baptist University
-Harlie Wiley will play soccer for Stephen F. Austin State University
-Taylor Gurnett will play soccer for Dallas Baptist University
-Cally Redding will play softball for Tarleton State University
-Monica Garza will be playing for Howard Payne
-McKenzie Tuyo will play volleyball for Henderson State
-Caidon Livingston and Bo Smedshammer will both be playing baseball for Murray State College
-Corbin Conradt will play golf for Dallas Baptist University
- Kaci Donaldson will be continuing her softball career for Army at West Point
-Peyton Powell will play baseball for the University of Texas
-Emilie Hoelscher and Kindell Hernandez will play softball for Tyler Junior College
- Amanda Marek will play softball for UT Tyler
-Erin Young will play softball for McLennan Community College
-Tyeann Johnson will play softball for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
-Shelby Carter will play softball for Tarleton State University.
- Tori Gibbons will participate in Acrobatics and Tumbling for Baylor
-Will Rigney will play baseball for Baylor
-Nolan Rodriguez will play baseball for Baylor
This was also the early signing period for Division I basketball as two of the area’s best players signed early with their schools.
J’Wan Roberts, a top 25 player in the state from Shoemaker High School, signed his letter of intent to join head coach Kelvin Sampson at the University of Houston.
Mystique Womack, the number 27 ranked guard in the entire country from Marlin, signed her letter of intent to join the University of Alabama’s women’s basketball team.
