WACO, Texas (KWTX) Baylor First Team All-American James Lynch has made the decision to forgo his senior season with the Bears and declare for the NFL Draft.
Lynch was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 following a season in which he posted 41 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks. Because of those totals Lynch will finish his time at Baylor as the Bears' all-time leader in sacks with 22.
A Round Rock, Texas native, Lynch committed to Baylor and Matt Rhule sight unseen in 2017. Rated as a three star prospect coming out of Round Rock High School, Lynch turned himself into one of the best defensive lineman in the country. Because of his development in his time at Baylor he has been rated as high as a second round pick by ESPN.
