Lady Bears roll over Abilene Christian in NCAA Tournament opener

WACO, TX (KWTX) The Baylor Lady Bears were able to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament at home, and they had no trouble putting away Abilene Christian in the first round, 95-38.

All-American Kalani Brown was the game's leading scorer with 17 points. The Baylor center also added 11 rebounds and six blocks.

Lauren Cox added 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.

The younger players played early and often for Kim Mulkey's team. NaLyssa Smith came away with a double-double, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds.

This is Baylor's second largest margin of victory in an NCAA Tournament game. The largest came when the Lady Bears beat Texas Southern by 89 two years ago.

Baylor will now play the California Golden Bears on Monday in the Ferrell Center at 8 p.m.
