Baylor baseball opens TCU series with win

WACO, Texas (KWTX) Richard Cunningham was directly responsible for four runs, Kyle Hill extended his season-long scoreless-inning streak to 27, and the No. 18 Baylor Bears defeated the No. 19 TCU Horned Frogs 6-3 Friday night.

Cunningham had two hits in as many at-bats and scored two runs and drove in two more. The senior outfielder also walked once, was hit by two pitches and stole a base.

Logan Freeman, Ryan Leckich and Kyle Hill combined to pitch 4.1 shutout innings in relief of starter Paul Dickens, who gave up three earned runs in 4.2 innings but struck out seven TCU hitters.

Baylor (27-12, 10-5 Big 12) has won five consecutive meetings with TCU (23-17, 6-7 Big 12) and moves back into first place in the conference standings after Oklahoma State lost to Texas Tech.
