Baylor ends losing skid, cruises past Kansas
The Baylor Bears took out eight weeks of winless frustration out on the Kansas Jayhawks.
Charlie Brewer passed for 315 yards and three touchdowns, and the Baylor defense held Kansas to less than 300 yards of total offense in the Bears' 38-9 win over the Jayhawks Saturday afternoon.
Following a scoreless first quarter, the Bears (1-8, 1-5 Big 12) outscored the Jayhawks 21-6 in the second quarter. Brewer completed touchdown passes to Jordan Feuerbacher and Gavin Holmes, who also ran for another score later in the quarter.
Terence Williams added a 1-yard touchdown run on 4th & goal in the third quarter, and Ish Wainright hauled in his first-career touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter.
Kansas (1-8, 0-6 Big 12) scored all of its points on field goals (38, 40 and 43 yards) by Gabriel Rui.
Taylor Young led Baylor with 10 tackles, while Harrison Hand recorded a third-quarter interception to make it back-to-back games for the Bears with an interception.
