MORGANTOWN, West Virginia The Baylor Bears struggled at West Virginia Thursday night, getting blown out in front of a primetime national television audience 58-14.
Baylor gave up a long touchdown pass just a few plays into the football game as Will Grier hit Gary Jennings for 53 yards to make it 7-0. Baylor turned it over several times in the first half including three times on Charlier Brewer interceptions. The Mountaineers turned those turnovers into points more often than not. Grier and David Sills hooked up for a pair of touchdown passes in the first half, one for 25 yards the other for 65 yards.
At the half West Virginia led 44-0.
Jalen McClendon played the 2nd half for Baylor at quarterback and had a little bit of success as the Bears scored twice against the West Virginia defense.
Baylor's 58-14 loss drops the Bears to 4-4 overall this season and puts West Virginia back on track to make the Big 12 championship game if they win out.
Baylor's next game is homecoming on November 3rd against Oklahoma State.
