Baylor football announces cancellation of spring game, pro day

WACO, Texas (KWTX) The Baylor Bears' Green & Gold spring football game scheduled for Sat., April 18, has been canceled.

In a tweet from the @BUFootball account, the spring game and Baylor's annual pro day were canceled in "in accordance with recent NCAA, Big 12 Conference and Baylor University developments.

"More information will be provided as it becomes available. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this unprecedented time."

One week ago, the start of Baylor football's spring practice schedule was postponed. That was in addition to the Big 12 announcing that all on- and off-campus recruiting would be on hold until further notice.

The spring football season is the best time for first-year head coaches to get adjusted to their new surroundings, coaches and players. But with continuing suspensions and cancellations, those hands-on approaches available for coaches in the past will make things extremely difficult for Baylor's first-year head coach Dave Aranda.
