Baylor football ranked in AP Top 25 for the first time since 2016

WACO, Texas (KWTX) For the first time since the 2016 season Baylor football will be ranked in the Top 25. The Bears came in at No. 22 in this weeks AP Poll, and No. 23 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

Baylor has started the season 5-0 under third year head coach Matt Rhule. That is the Bears best start since they went 6-0 in 2016 and rose to No. 8 in the nation under interim head coach Jim Grobe.

That 2016 team would go on to lose their remaining six regular season games before beating Boise State 31-12 in the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl to finish the season 7-6.

Baylor will face Texas Tech (3-2, 1-1) in Waco for homecoming this week. The Red Raiders are coming off an upset victory over the formerly ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys.
