WACO, Texas The Baylor Bears were down as many as 19 points before rallying in the 2nd half to beat Texas 84-83 in overtime.
Texas rode the hot shooting hand of Jase Febres to a big lead in the first half. The Longhorns shot the ball well while Baylor struggled. Texas led by 11 at the half, then extended that lead to 19 in the 2nd half.
Baylor responded at that point. Led by Mario Kegler, Devonte Bandoo, and Jared Butler, the Bears climbed back with hot outside shooting of their own to tie the Longhorns and force overtime.
In overtime, Butler and Kegler delivered as the Bears earned a 1-point win 84-83. Kegler's two free throws in the final seconds put Baylor ahead to stay.
Kegler finished with 24 points, Bandoo had 18 points, and Butler had 15. Febres led Texas with 23 points while Courtney Ramey had 17.
