Baylor ranked 24th in early USA Today football poll

WACO, Texas The Baylor football team is getting some really early preseason love from the pollsters at USA Today. The Bears are 24th in a poll released Wednesday.

The Bears are coming off a 7-6 season and the pollsters think Matt Rhule's third season will be even better. Baylor is one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the poll. The Bears are behind Oklahoma, Texas, and Iowa State. All of the other three are inside the top 15. Texas A&M from the SEC is also ranked, the Aggies come in at #8.

Baylor went 7-6 and won the Texas Bowl over Vanderbilt in 2018. The Bears return most of the lineup from last season including a ton of talent at the skill positions. A group led by junior quarterback Charlie Brewer.
