Baylor shuts out Cal Poly in series opener

WACO, Texas The Baylor baseball team, behind Paul Dickens, shut out Cal Poly Friday night 3-0 in their weekend series opener.

Dickens was fantastic on the mound for the Bears. He threw 7 shutout innings and struck out 5 while allowing just one hit to Cal Poly. Two Baylor relievers finished the shutout while only allowing one more hit in the final two innings.

Offensively the Bears didn't have a big night but they scored enough to get the win. Shea Langeliers drove in a pair of runs and Andy Thomas drove in the other in the 3-0 victory.

Baylor and Cal Poly will play again on Saturday.
